Nick Shapiro wins the 2016 Cultural Horizons Prize

October 8, 2016 Many congratulations to PIAO-mate Nick Shapiro, who has been awarded the 2016 Cultural Horizons Prize for his article “Attuning to the Chemosphere: Domestic Formaldehyde, Bodily Reasoning, and the Chemical Sublime.” The Cultural Horizons Prize is awarded yearly for the best article published in Cultural Anthropology that year, as determined by a panel of anthropology graduate students. We are so proud of our friend Nick, and grateful for his creative, beautiful, and timely work on domestic airspaces, chemical exposure, and the late industrial atmospheres of the United States.
